Obituary of Ron Sagstuen
Obituary Ronald Alan Sagstuen of Fort St. John, BC passed away peacefully after a lengthy and courageous struggle with chronic illness on August 28, 2016 at the Fort St. John Hospital. Ron was born May 27, 1955 in High River Alberta to Hans and Mary Sagstuen. He was the 7th of 12 siblings. He attended his schooling in Didsbury and Ponoka, Alberta completing grade 12. Ron travelled in Alberta and BC as a young man eventually settling in Fort St. John. He worked in various occupations as a garbage truck driver, swamper and Oilfield bed truck driver for P-Ben, cement truck driver for Inland Concrete and lately as a local taxi driver. He was married to Eryn Dalton for a period of time. Ron loved music, sports, and being with family. He was an avid and life long Edmonton Oiler and Toronto Blue Jay fan.
Ron was predeceased by his brother James in 1953, niece Tracy (Joan) in 1970, nephew Tyler (Rhonda) 1987, his mother Mary in 1988, his father Hans in 1989, sister Joan in 1994, sister Jenniece in 1996, sister Louise in 2002, and nephew Darryl (Betty) in 2016.
Ron is survived by his sister Betty, his brother Jerry (Laurie), brother Gordon ( Cecile), brothers Norman and Ken, sister Rhonda (Bryan), and sister Cheryl (Cosmo). He is survived by his Aunt Lois, Aunt Lillian, and Aunt Alice, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and his step-granddaughters Casey, Ashlyn, and Emmaline.
Internment is 11 o'clock September 2nd at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort St. John, Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church in Fort St. John officiated by Michael Hayes. Donations may be made to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation Cancer Treatment Fund or The Calvary Baptist Church.
