So sorry to lose my friend and fellow New Democrate from the Peace Region. I've shared many political meetings with Jean. In the north, in PG and of course in Vancouver. Like all northerners we fought to have our voices heard despite being outnumbered by those from the southern half of the province. Jean was quiet but determined to be heard and she was. We've celebrated successes and cried over losses. Jean, you will be remembered and missed.

You had only been part of my life for the past two years but I miss you terribly. Every morning I would hear you going for coffee or mail etc. You were so knowledgeable about everything for the seniors. I so appreciated the minutes you left for me if I was unable to attend the meetings. I hope you are carrying on at your new residence - helping others. Sincere condolences to Jean's family and her many friends. She is held in the highest regard by her NFU family, right across Canada and especially so here in PEI. Jean was never shy about expressing her opinion and I stood beside her many times as she faced off against Federal and Provincial Ministers of Agriculture. Her fight was always for the betterment of the farm community. for women, and for the less well to do. When she had something to say, you'd be best to be listening, but if you erred she'd still have your back. Canada has lost one off its best with Jean's passing. God speed, my friend.
